About juanita’s nahbox

Juanita’s Nähbox is a charming space filled with magic and creativity, originating from the heartwarming love story of its founder, Juanita. Originally from the beautiful country of Colombia, Juanita found love with an Austrian man 16 years ago, and together they started a family in Austria. Their daughter, Emilia, serves as the inspiration behind Juanita’s creative endeavors, with each handmade toy reflecting a fusion of Colombian creativity and the disciplined, family-oriented spirit of Austria.

The impetus to share her passion for crafting arose when Juanita began creating handmade toys for Emilia. Encouraged by her closest friends, she started teaching them the art of sewing and creating. What began as a small venture blossomed into JUANITA´S NÄHBOX, a thriving business that transcends its commercial aspect, forming a network of friendships. The business has expanded through word-of-mouth, with each new customer becoming an instant member of Juanita’s ever-growing circle of friends.

JUANITA´S NÄHBOX is not just a business; it’s a community fueled by creativity, shared ideas, and a love for crafting. Juanita’s friends have played a pivotal role in spreading the joy, inviting more people into this close-knit network. The ambiance of JUANITA´S NÄHBOX is one of camaraderie, where ideas are exchanged over cups of tea and freshly baked cookies before transforming into magical creations for the beloved children in their lives.

As the business thrives, Juanita has witnessed her NÄHBOX grow in both size and strength, mirroring the expansion of her network of friends worldwide. With connections in various countries, JUANITA´S NÄHBOX is not confined by geographical boundaries; instead, it continues to flourish, much like Emilia, nourished by the laughter and dreams that linger after each afternoon of dressmaking.

Recognizing the global nature of their community, Juanita has embraced the idea of virtual gatherings. In the spirit of traditional Latin-American „el costurero” sessions, Juanita envisions extending the magic of creativity through the internet. This website serves as a platform for sharing Juanita’s creations and ideas with friends around the world. Visitors are encouraged to engage, share thoughts, and contribute their own ideas, igniting a virtual space where the magic of creativity knows no bounds. Welcome to JUANITA´S NÄHBOX – where the magic of friendship and creativity intertwine, and the journey of shared dreams begins!

JUANITA´S SEWINGBOX is a place full of magic, a small room full of bright ideas and the creativity of friends. I am from the beautiful country of Colombia and met a wonderful Austrian man 11 years ago. As all love stories go, we fell in love and started a family in Austria. Our daughter, Emilia is the inspiration for my creations. She gave us the gift of her smile, her kind heart, and now I see the world with new eyes.

I love to do things for her. The handcrafted toys that I have made for her combine the best of two worlds: the creativity, happiness and warmth of my homeland with the discipline and sense of family of the people of my new home, Austria.

Creating brings me so much happiness. My closest friends encouraged me to teach them how to sew and create. That’s how it began and today my threads of colors, the fabrics, the buttons and the ideas are not just for me; they give happiness to so many others.

My small business, JUANITA´S SEWINGBOX is in reality a network of friendships. Many of my friends have spread the word to their friends and in turn those friends have invited their friends and so on…. Each new customer that comes to us is instantly in my circle of friends. We share our ideas over a cup of tea and freshly baked cookies. Then we get down to business and watch our hands become magical instruments that create for the children that we love so much.

Overtime I have seen my SEWINGBOX get bigger and stronger with all the ideas floating in my head. I have friends in many countries, so JUANITA´S SEWINGBOX will continue growing, just like my Emilia, fed by the laughter and the dreams that are left on the table after each afternoon of dress making. My Latin-American friends tell that we should have these sessions through the Internet (in Spanish there is a specific word for these meetings since our grandmothers’ days; we call them “the sewing box”).

Through this website I hope to share my creations and ideas with all of you, my friends. Please feel free to share your thoughts and ideas. Let the magic begin!
